COMMUNITY ASSESSMENT

2003 Community Assessment

On March 6, 2003, LexLinc and the University of Kentucky Research Center for Families and Children released research results of the Lexington-Fayette County Self-Assessment, an in-depth community-wide assessment conducted during late Spring 2002.

Over 1,500 randomly selected families completed interviews with responses to more than 100 questions regarding their financial needs, income support and mental health needs and characteristics such as ethnicity, education, marital status and number of people in household.

Data is organized into targeted Assessment Sectors, or contiguous census tracts with similar income levels and demographics. Specific human needs such as childcare or employment can be identified in each geographic sector.
