Committee & Leadership Involvment

Get involved in your community by participating in one or more of the committee and leadership opportunities provided by LexLinc.

  • Central Kentucky Economic Empowerment Project (CKEEP) -volunteer as a tax preparer during the tax season (late January -April 15).  No previous experience required, all volunteers will receive training.  Email Harmony Little for more information.

  • Citizen's Leadership Academy -join this 12-week grassroots leadership development program offered every fall (free of charge.) Email Catherine Warner to receive an application for the 2008 fall class. 

  • Friends of Children -join the monthly meetings of community partners and parents to network and access resources for the children of Fayette County.  These meetings take place on the third Wednesday of every month at the Gainesway DCBS on Centre Parkway.  The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. and lunch is provided.  Every community partner and parent in the community is invited and encouraged to attend.  For more information, contact the Regional Coordinator Kristy Hudson of Foothills Community Action Partnerships at 859-624-2046 x227.

  • Provider Cabinet -join this monthly meeting for human service professionals and organizations, both public and private, to become directly involved in community coalitions and to network and educate each other regularly. The monthly meetings make available opportunities not just to network, learn about the human services community and get involved with its initiatives, but also provides education on current events and resources broadly impacting service delivery.   • Welfare Operations Committee -join this monthly meeting of social service front line workers who work with KTAP clients.  The committee visits a community organization the third Friday of the month to learn about their services and programs and to network, collaborate and brainstorm with each other.  To be included on the email list for meeting notifications, email Harmony Little.
