School Supplies for Low-Income Children
Each August , over a dozen Lexington neighborhoods host simultaneous back-to-school rallies to serve over 8,000 low-income children. Neighborhood partners provide planning and organizing, entertainment, workshops, speakers, door prizes and give-aways. They also secure additional partners and sponsorships from local businesses, schools, arts, human service and faith-based organizations.
As the coordinating partner for this system, larger sponsorships secured through LexLinc are used exclusively to purchase school supplies that are given out at the neighborhood rallies.
