2008 Back-to-School Rallies

 About 30 volunteers helped us get the school supplies into our operations center at Transylvania. |
 It took a few hours to get all the kits and backpacks into the operations center. |
 The Dunbar football team helped out with some of the heavy lifting. |
 The kits and backpacks had to be distributed among the 16 different neighborhoods that were participating in the rallies. |
 Volunteers placed information from LFUCG's Department of Environmental Quality in the backpacks. |
 Mayor Jim Newberry talked about the importance of children being prepared for school. |
 American Founders Bank presented a $10,000 check towards the purchase of the school supply kits. |
 Cliff Feltham with KU showed off one of the backpacks they had purchased for the rallies. KU bought all 6,000 backpacks. |
