Wanda Bertram

Wanda Bertram is the founding and current director of LexLinc.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a degree in business administration and a degree in English (Phi Beta Kappa), Wanda began her career as an internal auditor with Jerrico, auditing operations across the United States.

Then as a marketing adviser for Kentucky Utilities, Wanda earned the industry’s top national honor in marketing. Part of Wanda's responsibilities included representing KU in the community through activity in organizations such as the Lexington Home Builders Association, the Lexington Bluegrass Association of Realtors, the Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau and Junior Achievement, through which she gained experience in multiple facets of the community. She served as a loaned executive for the United Way of the Bluegrass for two campaigns, carrying the largest volume corporate fundraising accounts. Also while at Kentucky Utilities, she completed a master’s degree from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce with an emphasis in the political economy of development.

After eight years at Kentucky Utilities, Wanda took a year to camp across the U.S. and travel internationally before starting LexLinc.

Over the course of her career, Wanda has maintained strong involvement in the community. She currently serves as the board president for the Lexington Forum, on the board as past president for the Lexington Children’s Theatre and on numerous other boards and leadership councils, including LexArts, the Blue Ridge Institute for Community Service Executives, Fayette Co. Public School's Community Partner's Leadership Team, the Central Kentucky Housing and Homeless Initiative, the Homeless and Housing Coalition of Kentucky and the Gheens Bridges to Tomorrow Advisory Committee in Louisville. As a longtime United Way volunteer, in addition to serving a total of three campaigns as a loaned executive, Wanda has served as a campaign cabinet chair and on many leadership teams including as a founder of Success by 6. Wanda is also a member of the Lexington Rotary Club and a 2006 graduate of Leadership Kentucky.

A member of Central Christian Church, Wanda chairs the Outreach Ministries and serves on the Council of Ministries and the Administrative Board. She has a great love for the arts and the outdoors and enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, biking and canoeing.



Harmony Little

Harmony Little is the Community Education Director for the Kentucky Poverty Law Center. Her primary responsibility is managing the Central Kentucky Economic Empowerment Project, an initiative LexLinc is inclubating to be a project of KPLC, which is currently housed in the LexLinc offices.

Harmony previously served as a project manager for LexLinc, where her primary duties revolved around the “families economically empowered” focus area. She coordinated the Central Kentucky Economic Empowerment project, which provides free tax preparation for low income families and promotes knowledge and use of Earned Income Tax Credit and asset building. She also served as the liaison for the local Department for Community Based Services office and worked with the staff there and other partner agencies to strengthen family self-sufficiency and reduce personal barriers to enter the workplace. Harmony also served on the LexLinc advocacy, data and outcomes measurement and public awareness teams.

Harmony received her Bachelor’s Degree in World Politics from Hamilton College in June 2000. Upon graduating, she joined the AmeriCorps VISTA program, which brought her to Kentucky. Harmony served two years in the VISTA program with the Lincoln County, KY, Board of Education working in the Adult and Community Education Office. In the fall of 2002, she began working for Lexington Habitat for Humanity as the Family Services Coordinator. Harmony left Habitat for Humanity to pursue her graduate studies on a full-time basis in the fall of 2005. She earned her Master’s in Public Administration from the Martin School at the University of Kentucky in May 2006.

Harmony serves on the advisory board for  the University of Kentucky’s Targeted Assessment Program, the Bluegrass Area Development District's Human Services Committee, and the United Way of the Bluegrass Economic Impact Council. In 2006, she received the Cabinet for Health and Family Services “Community Partner of the Year.” Harmony was a member of 2007-2008 class of the Leadership Lexington program, and currently serves on Commerce Lexington's Youth Leadership Advisory Committee. She is a member of the 2009-2010 class of Leadership Central Kentucky.

Harmony is from Sweden and prior to moving to America for college, lived in India, Cyprus and Mexico. She and her husband Eric enjoy traveling, reading, cooking, camping and hiking, watching movies and playing ultimate frisbee.




Catherine Warner
Catherine Warner serves as a part-time consultant to LexLinc. Now working fulltime for Walden Mortage Group., she previously served as our Children and Youth Coordinator. She worked with children and youth programs in creating community initiatives to ensure children are poised for success. She has a strong commitment to her community and has worked diligently as an advocate for children and their needs.

In her former role as the Success By Six Coordinator for the United Way of the Bluegrass she was instrumental in implementing and creating many opportunities for organizations engaged in early childhood education. She formed relationships between the Child Care Council, Fayette County Public Schools and the Lexington Public Library to address issues and create solutions to ensure all children enter school ready to learn. She established a partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for Fayette County, enhancing reading skills and emerging reading skills of children from birth through 5 years of age. She also created the Getting Ready for Kindergarten Calendars now used by parents in Fayette County as well as the public school system.

Catherine was the Community Advocate for the Mayor’s Training Center, working directly with the Welfare to Work Initiative to assist with employment and training skills for the participants. She also worked for First Security National Bank for 23 years where she held several positions, including Administrative Assistant, Customer Service Representative and Equity Loan Processor.

Catherine has served on numerous boards and received many awards for her work in the community. Catherine co-founded the Lexington Roots and Heritage Festival designing cultural activities and bringing national performances to Lexington; she chaired the event for 15 years. She also served as the chairperson for the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration for 20 years. Catherine currently serves on the Children Museum Board, Gainesway Empowerment Center Board, Children Advocacy Committee, Kentucky Child Now Board, Child Care Council Board, University of Kentucky’s Great School Initiative Committee, Member of the Georgetown Neighborhood Association and the Cardinal Valley Neighborhood Association. Catherine has recently been asked to work with Kentucky Youth Advocates Commission to address poverty in Kentucky.

Catherine is a graduated of Bryan Station High School and Kentucky Technical College. She has attended University of Kentucky and Midway College. Catherine is a member of Historic Pleasant Green Baptist Church.
